Jennifer Joanna Aniston (born February 11, 1969) is an American actress, film director, and producer. Aniston gained worldwide recognition in the 1990s for portraying Rachel Green on the television sitcom Friends, a role which earned her an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Aniston has also enjoyed a successful Hollywood film career. She gained critical acclaim for her performances in the independent films She's the One (1996), Office Space (1999), The Good Girl (2002) and Friends with Money (2006). She has had her greatest commercial successes with the films Bruce Almighty (2003), The Break Up (2006), Marley & Me (2008), Just Go with It (2011) and Horrible Bosses (2011). Aniston was selected for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.

Career Television
Aniston was cast in her first television role in 1990, starring as a regular on the short lived series Molloy and in the TV movie Camp Cucamonga. She also co starred in Ferris Bueller, a television adaptation of the 1986 movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The series, however, was quickly canceled. Aniston then appeared in two more failed television comedy series, The Edge and Muddling Through, and guest starred on Quantum Leap, Herman's Head, and Burke's Law. After the string of canceled shows, along with her appearance in the critically derided 1992 horror film, Leprechaun, Aniston reportedly considered giving up acting. Aniston's plans changed, however, after auditioning for Friends, a sitcom that was set to debut on NBC's 1994–1995 fall lineup. The producers of the show originally wanted Aniston to audition for the role of Monica Geller, but Courteney Cox was considered to be better suited to the role. Thus, Aniston was cast as Rachel Green. She was also offered a spot as a featured player on Saturday Night Live, but turned it down to do Friends. She played the character of Rachel from 1994 until the show ended in 2004.

The program was successful and Aniston, along with her co stars, gained world wide reputation among television viewers. Aniston received a salary of $1 million per episode for the last two seasons of Friends, as well as five Emmy nominations (two for Supporting Actress, three for Lead Actress), including a win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. According to the Guinness World Book of Records (2005), Aniston (along with her female costars) became the highest paid TV actress of all time with her $1 million per episode paycheck for the tenth season of Friends.

In 2007, Aniston guest starred in an episode of Courteney Cox Arquette's series Dirt, playing Arquette's rival, Tina Harrod. She appeared in the third episode of Season 3 of NBC's 30 Rock playing Liz Lemon's old college roommate who stalks Jack Donaghy. On July 16, 2009, Aniston received an Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on 30 Rock. Aniston was a guest star on the Season 2 premiere of ABC's sitcom Cougar Town, playing a psychiatrist.

Film
While appearing on Friends, Aniston also started segueing into film roles. She made her film debut in 1992's Leprechaun, which was negatively reviewed by critics, but was commercially successful and gained a cult following. Following a four year hiatus from cinema, Aniston returned to film work in 1996, when she played supporting roles in the independent films Dream for an Insomniac, and She's the One, alongside Edward Burns and Cameron Diaz. Aniston's first starring vehicle was the film Picture Perfect (1997), in which she starred opposite Kevin Bacon and Jay Mohr. While the film received mixed reviews, Aniston's performance was more warmly received, with many critics suggesting that she had screen presence. During the second half of the 1990s she starred in several films such as the ensemble romantic film 'Til There Was You (1997) with Dylan McDermott and Sarah Jessica Parker, The Thin Pink Line (1998), the animated feature The Iron Giant (1999), and the critically acclaimed comedy Office Space (1999). She gained critical acclaim for her performances in The Object of My Affection (1998), a comedy drama about a woman who falls for a gay man (played by Paul Rudd), and in the low budget 2002 film The Good Girl, playing an unglamorous cashier in a small town. The latter film opened in relatively few theaters under 700 in total taking $14M in the U.S. box office.

Aniston, with Steve Zahn, at the premiere of Management (2008)
Aniston's biggest box office success to date was her appearance in 2003's Bruce Almighty, in which she played the live in girlfriend of Jim Carrey's title character. Aniston then starred in the 2004 film Along Came Polly opposite Ben Stiller. In late 2005, Aniston appeared in two major studio films, Derailed and Rumor Has It. In 2006, Aniston appeared in the low budget drama Friends with Money, which was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival and received a limited release. Aniston's next film, The Break Up, which was released on June 2, grossed approximately $39.17 million during its opening weekend, despite lukewarm reviews. In 2006, Aniston directed a hospital emergency room set short film called Room 10, starring Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson as part of Glamour's Reel Moments film series. Aniston noted that she was inspired to direct by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who also directed a short film in 2006.

On December 25, 2008, Marley & Me, in which Aniston starred alongside Owen Wilson, was released. It set a record for the largest Christmas Day box office ever with $14.75 million in ticket sales. It earned a total of $51.7 million over the four day weekend and placed at the box office, a position it maintained for two weeks. The total worldwide gross was $242,717,113. Her next film in wide release, He's Just Not That into You, where she starred opposite Ben Affleck, opened in February 2009. The movie made $27.5 million, ranking at the box office in its opening weekend. While the film received mixed reviews, Aniston, along with Affleck, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Jennifer Connelly, were often praised by critics as being the stand outs in the film. In March 2010, Aniston appeared in The Bounty Hunter, which costarred Gerard Butler. While the film received scathing reviews from critics, it was a modest box office success, garnering over $130 million worldwide.[44] A lukewarm box office reception greeted her next film, The Switch, in which she co starred with Jason Bateman. The film's opening weekend drew what The Hollywood Reporter dubbed a dispiriting $8.4 million. The film received generally mixed reviews, with review site Metacritic showing 13 out of 30 critics delivering a positive verdict.

By June 20, 2010, Aniston's movies had grossed more than $1 billion in the United States and over $1.7 billion worldwide. Aniston's Just Go with It, with Adam Sandler, was released on Valentine's Day weekend in 2011. The story is about a plastic surgeon, played by Sandler, who asks his office manager, played by Aniston, to pose as his wife, to prove his honesty to his much younger girlfriend, played by Brooklyn Decker. Also in 2011, Aniston starred in the comedy movie Horrible Bosses, with Colin Farrell, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jamie Foxx, directed by Seth Gordon. The film focuses on a trio of employees who plot to murder their titular tyrannical supervisors. Aniston played one of the bosses, a sexually aggressive dentist who harasses Charlie Day's character.

Aniston at the London premiere of Horrible Bosses (2011) In 2012, Aniston appeared in Wanderlust with Paul Rudd, with whom she co starred in the 1998 movie The Object of My Affection and also Friends. The script, bought by Universal Pictures, was written by Rudd, Ken Marino, and David Wain, with the latter also directing the film, and was produced by Judd Apatow. The movie was about a married couple who join a commune after losing their money and deciding modern life is not for them. EUE/Screen Gems Productions is expected to start work on We're the Millers in Summer 2012 in the Wilmington, North Carolina area. Megamind Movies | Megamind movie part 1 | Megamind movie review | Images for Megamind movies

And so the Oftentimes, Metro Man's crush, reporter Roxanne Ritchi (Tina Fey), finds herself caught in the middle. These two spend their days combating each other, with Megamind always trying to get the upper-hand on Metro Man (to no avail). The prison baby grows up to become a villain after years of scorn and rejection, naming himself Megamind (voiced by Will Ferrell). The fortunate baby grows up to be hero to the city and adopting the name Metro Man (voiced by Brad Pitt).

This very first crossing of paths, results in a feud breaking out between the two. Megamind, instead, gets stuck growing up in a prison, raised by criminals. Unfortunately for him, though, another baby from another planet beats him to the punch and ends up getting the better of the deal by knocking Megamind out of the way and landing with the rich family. Megamind is the story of an alien who is sent to Earth when his home planet is destroyed. However, it won't be a movie that you'll be revisiting for repeat viewings.

It does entertain, though, making it a good movie to pass the time. While providing some good laughs at the hands of Will Ferrell's wisecracks, Megamind doesn't manage to be as funny as it could have been. It's a fun, if unremarkable, movie that provides just enough to be diverting and result in a good time for all ages. Megamind should provide a fun time for the kids (younger and older alike) and even give parents moments of entertainment and good laughs.

Through them all there were many moments They were years of peace and years of war. They were years of hardship and years of promise. Much like today, the years of FDR's presidency were trying years for the people of the nation.

Without the political term limits of today, FDR was elected by the people to serve as President of the United States for four consecutive terms, with Fala almost continuously by his side. Fala's stay at the White House was one of the longest in history and may forever remain an unbroken record. Master and puppy knew at once they were going to be great friends and the first time the President patted Fala's head and whispered Good doggie, good doggie, they knew the friendship would blossom into love. The President was delighted with him.

He was a very little puppy when Margaret Daisy Suckley decided he would make a wonderful gift for her cousin Franklin Delano Roosevelt. His full name was Murray the Outlaw of Fala Hill, reduced for the sake of convenience to Fala. With many Americans noting the similarities, real or imaginary, between Barack Obama's task of rebuilding today's shattered economy and Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal of decades past, the story of FDR's beloved little Scotty dog Fala becomes even more worth the telling. Pets ranging from rabbits to goats to chickens, dogs and raccoons, have captured national sentiment throughout our nation's history. The Obama's new puppy coming to the White House is not the first time a First Pet has captured national attention.

The Modern Library named it the second best English-language novel of the 20th Century  Today the book is widely regarded as a sort of Great American Novel, and a literary classic. After the novel was republished in 1945 and 1953, The Great Gatsby quickly found a wide readership. That scenario is the backdrop for the novel, which contributed to its popularity.

The ban on alcohol made millionaires out of bootleggers, who smuggled in the now illegal substance. Yet, at the same time, Prohibition, the ban on the sale and manufacture of alcohol as mandated by the Eighteenth Amendment, was gaining traction. In 1922, America has fully recovered from the First World War, and is enjoying prosperity during the Roaring Twenties, when the economy soared and emotions ran high. The Great Gatsby takes place during a prosperous time in American History.

The book is set in 1922 from the spring to the autumn. There are two settings for the novel: on Long Island's North Shore, and in New York City. The book was first published in 1925, and it has been republished in 1945 and 1953. The Great Gatsby is a novel by American author F.

To Rome With Love Movies | To Rome with Love is an upcoming romantic comedy film| | When In Rome, Fall In Love | To Rome With Love Trailer Yep It's A Woody Allen Movie

Beth picks up four coins and a poker chip from the fountain and as soon as she returns to New It's never a good idea to taunt a goddess, though, and Venus takes a highly comical form of revenge. Disappointed, Beth swigs Dom Perignon from the bottle and jumps in the fountain, taunting Venus. That is, until she sees him kissing an Italian woman.

At the wedding, Beth feels like she's making a connection to Umberto's best man, sports writer Nick (Josh Duhamel, a.k.a Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas' man). The wedding will take place in Italy during the same week Beth is in charge of a crucial exhibit of artworks depicting pain. She's stunned when her younger sister Joan announces she's marrying Umberto, a Roman she met on a plane two weeks ago. She barely even believes in love, since she's never found a man she loves more than her job as a curator at the Guggenheim art museum.

Beth (Kristen Bell) doesn't believe in all that romantic nonsense. If you take one of those coins, whoever threw it in will fall in love with you. They throw coins in the fountain for good luck in love. Still, in this movie, modern Romans still pay homage to the Fountain of Love, flanked by a larger than life sculpture of the goddess. Okay, so many Romans are Catholic these days, and not Pagans like their ancient ancestors. They worship Venus, the ancient Roman goddess of love, lust and beauty. What do the Romans do?  When in Rome, do what the Romans do.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World Movies | Seeking a Friend for the End of the World Official Trailer | Seeking a Friend for the End of the World Movie Times

Modern romantic comedies take a more cynical view of the trials and tribulations of finding someone to love  However, the boy meets girl part is shown to be decidedly more difficult. Romantic comedies today adopt a similar plot structure. They have idealised ideas about finding 'the one. Boy meets girl on a chance encounter, boy and girl must overcome obstacles to be together, girl is eventually swept off her feet - cue long, lingering Hollywood kiss.

These movies capture the beauty of romance. Many of us have grown up with classics like Breakfast at Tiffany's or colourful musicals such as Easter Parade or My Fair Lady. Ah, the romantic comedy, it's an enduring genre that truly has stood the test of time.

Griffith decided to invest his own money to turn Thomas Dixon's novel The Clansman into a two and half In 1915, frustrated by his bosses' unwillingness to let him make a feature-length film, Biograph Studios Director D.W. Controversial movies have been around since the beginning of the industry. Wayne publicly thanked the East Coast reviewers who hated the movie for bringing it more attention, and laughed all the way to the bank.

Upon its release many critics who opposed the war called The Green Berets vile and boring, but to their great distress it was a huge box office success. It took all of Wayne's persuasive abilities to get Jack Warner to distribute the film. The Green Berets production problems ranged from a lack of cooperation from the Pentagon to battle scenes repeatedly being ruined when twirling helicopter blades blew the sixty-one year old actor's toupee off. Wayne, who never served in the military, hated being called a hero by the press while the young soldiers he visited in Vietnam were accused of being murderers.

Eight years before the Cowboy Star had taken a financial bath while producing The Alamo (1960), he considered The Green Berets an appropriate freedom-fighting sequel. In 1968 John Wayne decided to counter Vietnam War protests by turning The Green Berets, a collection of short stories by author Robin Moore about the superhero like exploits of the US Army Special Forces into a movie. Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911 (2004) and Mel Gibson's The Passion of The Christ (2004) continued a long line of controversial films.

Normally in film like this one, there is an attempt to destroy the problem species which is, The blood and guts seem to cover up any attempt at a strong climax. It is not something a person should see on a full stomach. Some shots even reveal these limbs floating around in the water with all the blood. The viewers witness people literally having their arms and legs chewed off and their bodies ripped to pieces.

Perhaps the most notable scene of this is the beach massacre scene late in the film. In short, it excessively displays the human body's vulnerablity for strictly theatrical purposes. For those who don't know what a splatter film is, it is a film with so much blood and gore that it is borderline humorous. Piranha 3D isn't just your average science fiction/horror film; it is a "splatter" film.

But it is Spring Break, a very difficult time of year to close a beach when the small town needs the revenue. After a fisherman's mutilated corpse and boat are found, the sheriff contemplates closing the beach. A small earthquake in Lake Victoria splits the lake floor and allows prehistoric and super aggressive piranhas into the lake. It is directed by Alexandre Aja.

At the same time, it was clear that if another, and still heavier, looper infestation occurred as In fact, it was a case of getting the timber to the mills within two years or losing it. This called for quick action, since deterioration sets in fast in the coastal fog belt. The immediate problem was to salvage the timber already killed. Outright timber kill was set at 40 million feet, with much more partially defoliated.

From all information gathered it was reckoned that 12,000 acres were infested in some degree, with 2500 acres heavily infested. Reconnaissance flights covered all suspected areas. During October and November, Crown Zellerbach foresters cruised 12,000 acres. Some of the partially defoliated trees stood a chance to recover, the fully stripped trees were through. Thousands of conifers had been stripped clean, others partially.

When the last of the moths had given up the ghost along about mid October, creeks and rivers were brown with them, tree trunks were plastered, and pot holes in the roadways were thick with their dead bodies. A bumper crop was indicated. In this stage eggs are laid for next year's generation. By early fall the insects, true to form, went into the moth stage, and before long there was a veritable blizzard of moths buzzing over the area, even in the streets of Seaside.

It was the beginning of a serious outbreak, and control was clearly a job for 1945. But there was no chance to stop them in 1944. They were there in a multitude, all right the caterpillars.

The Secret World of Arrietty Movies | The secret world of arrietty movie part 1 | The secret world of arrietty movie tickets | The secret world of arrietty movie 2012 | Miyazaki at it Again The Secret World of Arrietty

This is more than I can say for films such as Princess Mononoke and Spirited I also realized that the lackluster visuals are enlivened by the English language screenplay, translated by Karey Kirkpatrick from Hayao Miyazaki and Keiko Niwa's original Japanese version, and the voice work, which, for me at least, grounded the story in such a way that I could understand it. The look of the film didn't impress me all that much, although I found myself caught up in the story, which is an adaptation of Mary Norton's book The Borrowers. Having said all that, I find myself in the position of reviewing the latest Studio Ghibli animated film The Secret World of Arrietty, which has been distributed by Walt Disney Pictures for its American release.

I've also noticed that, during still shots, the irises tend to shake rapidly, as if the characters are always on the verge of tears. The eyes are the biggest culprits; because they're so big, they convey emotions at an exaggerated level. They tend to just open and close, like the limited flapping movements of a puppet. You see this with their mouths, which may adequately put forth smiles or frowns but consistently fail to suggest the illusion of vowel sounds, which are more complex and therefore more lifelike. It's not the backgrounds so much as the characters, especially their faces, many of which are drawn according to a fixed iconography that essentially cuts corners in the ways of expression. Perhaps I'm just artistically deficient, but I find the look of anime unappealing

It took just over twenty years of civil rights advocacy for Congress to pass a law amending the rules that prevented funding for the training of black military pilots. military was racially segregated. During World War II, many African Americans were still subject to degrading Jim Crow laws, and the U.S.

That's because the real life story of the Airmen is far more compelling than the filmmakers give it credit for. Had I been executive producer George Lucas, who invested an estimated $100 million of his own money into its budget and promotion, I would have opted for a more serious approach. Perhaps if someone had come to a decision as to which film they wanted to make, there might have been something to get out of it. On the other side, we have a stylistic homage, it's a generic war movie rife with threadbare clichés, some lightweight, some melodramatic, all of it dated and hopelessly predictable.

On one side, we have serious drama, the film is an historical account of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first ever group of African American fighter pilots to serve the United States military during World War II. Red Tails is caught in a fatal tug of war between two narrative approaches.
