There are three types of DS storage devices available in the market: First Generation running on SLOT-2, Second Generation for SLOT-1, and Third Generation is newly launched. First Generation of DS Storage
GBA Flash Catridges: The homebrew applications were stored on firstly Game Boy Advance flash Cartridges. They have 32 MiB rewritable flash-memory block directly accessible by Nintendo DS and CPU. However, the storage capacity limitation, low variety and high price made did not make them ideal for users. GBA Movie Player (GBAMP): is CompactFlash adapter for Game Boy Advance. It is compatible with playing Game Boy games, NES, movies, and music under 200kb. It also supports GBA games under 256kb and reading text files. The low price and standard feature set makes GBAMP ideal for homebrew.
